We broke up again today. I fought it as long as I could but there is only so many times you can hear "I don't want to be with you." before you give in. You can't force someone to want to be with you at least I can't.
There are always two sides to a story. Some where in the middle lies the truth but its hard to get to and in this case its nearly impossible. He doesn't think he's done anything wrong and I want him to realize that a relationship goes both ways. My hurt feelings may have been a misguided, but rather than saying "Hey I'm doing something that's really upsetting my girlfriend, maybe I should modify my behavior.", I get "Stop being bi-polar and jealous."
I'm not trying to make this his fault. I just expect to have my concerns and emotions discussed and resolved rather than keeping it to myself and nothing getting better. He's never understood that. I've tried for so long to be exactly who he wants. He wants the version on me that he sees in his head.I think when it comes right down to it I loved him a little bit to hard. I put pleasing him in front of pleasing myself. I based all my future plans around him. I made my life about his.I'm scared though. He's been the only guy who's loved me enough to put up with neurosis. He thought I was beautiful even when I didn't. He took the time to try and bring me out of my social shell. He introduced me to things I've never experienced before.
I don't know if this is necessarily the end all be all of us. I don't even know if this is whats best for us. He thinks it is what we both need. We'll see what happens.
